Who are you and what did you do?
My name is Cendrine. Originally from Toulouse, France, I have lived in Winnipeg, Canada, since 2003.
I am a photographer, poet and the author of 13 books in different genres (poetry, photography, theatre, and social media). I also work as the Head of marketing and communications at ConnexionFranco.coop and co-founded a poetry magazine, Auroras & Blossoms Poetry Journal ().
My interest for the Haiku and early photography triggered my desire to invent my own poetry form (the Sixku ) and my own digital genre of photography (the Reminigram). Also, I recently started dabbling in B&W film photography.
I am also a co-founder of FPoint Collective which was launched in mid-2019.
My partners and I each have specific skills and is passionate about different fields of photography. But we all agree on the following: Good images go beyond technical aspects; they tell memorable stories.
Every month, we announce a new theme and invite our followers to submit photos to be
featured on our social media pages. We also share our interpretations on our blog.
What does your typical day look like?
I have never had a typical day in my entire life. My schedule changes all the time. I am always doing something different.
How is your workspace setup?
I have an office in my basement. My photography gear and computer are there. But, despite the fact that I am a very organized entrepreneur, that room is a mess. Only I know how to find my things. lol
What hardware do you use to make your content?
All my writing is done on my computer. I love Google Docs!
As far as photography is concerned, I own a Nikon D750 and several lenses, including the NIKKOR 28-300mm, Tamron SP 24-70mm f/2.8, and Micro-Nikkor 105mm f/2.8.
I specialize in nature, black and white, and close-up photography, so I have a sturdy tripod, wireless shutter, and a couple of filters for long-exposure shots.
I am a natural light photographer and prefer not to over-process my shots. I mostly use Darktable for the basic editing of RAW files and Lightroom for fine-tuning with my own customized presets. I also rely on Topaz / ON1 if I have a specific idea in mind.
