Tyle Olister

Who are you and what did you do?

My name is Tyle Olister and I am a photographer.

How is your workspace set up?

The workspace is set up in an office in my apartment. Next to the desk, I have a bookshelf that holds a plethora of photography books that help me draw inspiration for my shoots. I often look at some published books for ideas and points of view that may help me expand my portfolio.

What does your typical day look like?

I am a weekend warrior. So my days are long. Often starting before the sun rises so I can snag some shots with the awesome colors that a sunrise brings. Many hours are spend hiking to and from different locations to get as many shots as possible. Then comes the hard part, downloading the shots. I often have hundreds of photos that I like so I spend a lot of time going back k and forth and searching for that perfect shot in my library.

What hardware do you use to make your content?

A 2019 MacBook Pro. If you want to be the best you need to work with the best. Apple has proven itself time and time again to offer an amazing platform with great guts to process all my work.

What software?

Lightroom. I live by Lightroom. I know photoshop is insanely popular but in my opinion many of the attributes photoshop brings to the table have a tendency to take away from the photograph. Most of the creative aspect should be done with the camera and lens, not in post-editing.
